I’ve used Paypal a couple of times now

October 31, 2007 by Bob

As I announced on this blog a few weeks back, Paypal is now available for users in the Philippines. It actually has been allowed to have a Paypal account here for about a year now, but it wasn’t very accessible. You could not take money out unless you used a Bank Account in the United States, and there were other limits too. However, in the past month or so, Paypal has made it fairly easy to use various Philippine Accounts to accomplish the use of one of their accounts to the fullest.

I have actually used Paypal twice now, since they have started their new policies. So far so good! About 2 weeks ago, somebody wanted to buy something from one of my online stores, and e-mailed me to let me know that they did not have a credit card, and wanted to use Paypal to pay. I said “OK” and accepted my first Paypal payment on my Philippine Paypal Account. It worked great! I proceeded to go to my account settings in all of my advertising companies that I use on my blogs, except for Google AdSense (they don’t do Paypal). This morning I received my September earnings from Chitika through Paypal, and again it went off without a hitch! So, now I actually have a healthy balance in my Paypal account.

I have yet to make any withdrawal from my Paypal account, though, so I’ll be testing that later. Until then, though, I have full confidence that Paypal works great here in the Philippines. So far, nothing has shown me otherwise. I used Paypal when I lived in the USA, and never had a problem there with Paypal, so they have my confidence!

Have you tried Paypal yet?

I have read of others problems with Paypal, but it has always worked smoothly for me. Paypal is your friend! Actually, it seems an easy way to send and receive money. With one of my sites, people have the ability to sign up for regular payments and Paypal does all the remembering for me. Can’t beat that with a stick.

Hi Tom - Yes, there are always some who have problems. I did actually have a problem one time when I used my USA Paypal account here in the Philippines. They froze my account, and it took me about a year to get the funds, but that was because I logged on from here, and didn’t realize that was against the rules. I was finally able to get the funds back.

I like Paypal good tool to have, i had 2 paypal debit cards i sent 1 to my wife in the Philippines in a nice thick book in case she needed some money i would fund it from my checking account.Having your advertising companies put the money straight in helps, looks like google AdSense would work with paypal. Google may be trying to take over this market along with everything else.. have good day

Hi Allen Smith - Yeah, I like Paypal. I used them a lot when I was still in the States. Now that they are open to doing business in the Philippines I will be using them more and more. Google won’t deposit into Paypal… they are competitors with Google Checkout. :-)
