New Forum for Philippine Entrepreneurs
February 25, 2008 by Bob
Just a quick post today here on Virtual Earner!
I wanted to let everybody know of a new forum that a friend of mine set up. It’s called Angat Pinoy, and it is about being an Entrepreneur in the Philippines.
The forum is brand new, and is being run by my friend Raymond Usbal. In addition to a great community where you can participate, Raymond is kicking things off right by giving away a prize - a Macbook! Wow, that’s a great prize that a lot of people will want to get their hands on! Head over and join the contest!
Good luck with your new forum, Raymond!

And that’s why I read your stuff, Bob. You’re not afraid to share the wealth. There is at least one Yahoogroup that does not even allow the mention of any other expat resources. Oh my.
Hi Tom - I know of one Yahoogroup (probably the same one that you are mentioning) that if you even mention my name you can be banned from the group!
Yeah, I don’t like to work like that!
Thanks for the tip, Bob, I’m taking a look now …as far as yahoo groups that wouldn’t recognize how to make money if they found a hundred dollar bill … in the Air Force we had a useful expression for that … “Close the Hangar Doors” …
BTW, Tom, I can assure you Bob is on the right track …I interact a lot with other bloggers as well as Bob, and anything I might have occassionally ‘given’ has come back to me ten-fold.
That’s a good item for beginning web entrepreneurs to think about … for years now I’ve seen alot of guys stagnate because they are afraid of someone stealing their ‘ideas’ …so they never implement their ‘ideas’.
Ideas, on their own are worth nothing … and there is room on line for many apparently competing ‘ideas’. Google might be used as a prime example .. there were other very good search engines already well established when Sergey and Larry started an extremely ambitious project in a rented garage, copying almost exactly the crawling and indexing methods used by an engine called “AltaVista”, a search engine backed by Digital Equipment Corp, one of the major computer players of the day. AltaVista even had some hugely profitable government contracts for search, some public, some classified, becuase no one else on line had their horsepower for search.
Anyone who valued the sanctity of ‘ideas’ would have thought those two college boys crazy … guess they weren’t
Hi Dave Starr - Yep, I think that sharing the wealth is always a good thing! The rewards always come back when you do that, and the payoff is usually monetary and also non-monetary friendships and good feelings! It’s the only way to go!
That’s a nice computer they’re giving away. I just bought one like that.
Hi Kevin - Nice to see you here! Yeah, that’s no cheapo computer, it’s a good one!
