@Tom Nixon: thanks for your comment. You know, I was thinking about that, especially the situation with your dad. The conclusion that I reached is that back in the days when your dad and my dad were working, the whole thought of doing something that you enjoy was a foreign idea, I think. The fact you are getting paid, meant that you just did whatever they told you to do, back in those days. In the current times, though, we place a lot more value on enjoyment and our own personal pleasure. I think I like the way things are done now, a little better.

This is so on the mark. Can you imagine being 80 years old, looking back on your life, and hating what you did?

My father sold cars & trucks for Ford Motor Co. for most of his adult life. He was good at it and mostly he did fleet sales (where you sell to companies, school districts, etc.). He hated it and was not a particularly big fan of most of the sales people in the industry.

Why did he do it? He was raising three boys on his own. You do what you have to do. His doing that gave me many more options in life.

That being said, my preference is to do things I like to do and these last few years have been exactly that.
